Swapno Bhor Seniors’ Park is a wellness club for seniors(both male and female) aged 50 years and above. This is the only dedicated park for seniors in West Bengal,run by WBHIDCO as one of its projects in New Town Kolkata. The park was inaugurated in 2015 by Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Banerjee.
Spread over an area of about 4 acres,the park has One Banquet Hall, an Auditorium and one open green lawn for renting out to the people for social functions like marriage ceremony, reception, birthday party, etc. On the other side,there is a green zone,with four golden statues of Lord Buddha erected on the pathway surrounded by growing fruit trees. Besides, there are four covered adda zones along with one laughing zone in the corners. Two aviaries and one big aquarium are added attractions of the park.
At present, Swapno Bhor has nearly 1000 members against 1000 berths, and new members are inducted subject to vacancy.The park has several facilities for its members, such as library, cultural activities, indoor games, health check-up,yoga, music school, recitation learning for men and women, morning and evening walks, etc. Besides, the members of Swapno Bhor join various outdoor activities like winter picnic, annual sports, excursions , visit to Puja mandaps of Kolkata, Kolkata International Book Fair, and many more, for their entertainment in different walks of life.
Every Sunday cultural programmes are held at the Cultural Hall where members spend their Sunday evenings happily. Sometimes the members too join these programmes to share their activities with others. At the end of the year, Swapno Bhor celebrates its birthday through felicitation of a few senior-most members followed by prize distribution for different indoor game competitions and cultural programmes that the members participate in throughout the year.The members of Swapno Bhor including guests of Snehodiya have been jointly organizing Durga Puja for the last couple of years. Swapno Bhor possesses a two-storied building ALAAP having a Banquet Hall on the ground floor and the first floor. ALAAP and separate lawn are made available for renting out to public.
Swapno Bhor (Seniors' Park) remains closed on Mondays.
