Guideline for plot allotments under the Chairman Discretionary Quota

Applications are invited for Limited number of plots in Action Area-II as shown in the table below, to be allotted under the Chairman's Discretionary Quota.

Objective

Encourage distinguished persons from all walks of life to settle in New Town with a view to improve the quality of life.

Address the specific needs and concerns of certain section of society particularly those economically weaker and socially deprived.

Procedure

Eligibility

The following categories of persons(s) are eligible for allotment under the Quota.

Land losers in the New Tow project area

Gallantry / other Award Winners-military, paramilitary, police, civil (or their spouses / parents if posthumous)

Single working women without accommodation in the KMDA area including those residing in working women's hostels

Freedom fighter and bonafide participants in post-independence democratic movement

Social workers, that is, persons involved in various kinds of social welfare and allied activities like rural development, literacy, mother and child care, juvenile justice, care of the disabled, control of drug abuse, old age care, etc.

Political workers i.e. office bearers of recognised political parties and elected representatives in various level of governance

Persons belonging to the weaker section of the society (SC/ST/OBC), religious and linguistic minorities, physically handicapped

Eminent persons in established professions like law, medicine, journalism, engineering, civil service, finance, accountancy, commerce and industry, teaching, etc.

Eminent persons in literature, art architecture, cinema, music, culture, sports & related fields

NRIs

Persons with a record of valuable service in the development of the New Town, Kolkata

Persons with urgent social / economic need of housing

Applications should be made on plain paper, and should reach the office of the chairman HIDCO by 22.08.2005

The following details will have to be indicated:-

Particulars of the applicants(s), including name, father's name address, telephone /
e-mail / fax.

Category under which eligibility claimed (refer para 3)

Income Group (Refer col. 2 of Table)

Plot category required (Refer col. 1 of Table-1)

Whether previously applied in HIDCO, quote application number, plot category and the current payment status.

N.B.

1) For cooperatives all members will have to separately meet the eligibility / income criteria.

2) person (s) in the LIG category can opt for the plots in the MIG/HIG Categoriers, MIG can opt for HIG, but not vice versa.

3) One applicant / family can apply for only one plot

4) Supporting documentation will have to be provided.

5) Applicant(s) must be competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act 1972

6) Selection will be done as per stated criteria. Failure in lottery will not constitute sufficient reasons.
